Day 11

MONDAY -- Memorial Day!

I forget what time they both woke up... I think it was around the same time... 7-ish.

Both had cheerios + raisins.

And then it was off to the zoo!

It rained on and off, but we were well-prepared:

First we saw the flamingos and then Amelia climbed these things:

In the aquarium:

What Amelia came to see.... the Manatees!  She brought "Emma" to see them:

Next we rode the carousel:

Except Amelia chickened out and we shared the seat:

Then we went to feed the Lorikeets:

Amelia got too close and was nipped.

Luca was skeptical:

We saw the kangaroos:

Next was the Dinosaur exhibit:

Not scared:

And the boat ride into the dinosaur park:

Luca had been pretty clingy all day, so I was pretty impressed that he sat next to me, not on my lap:

Then, we went to lunch.

Corndog bites for Luca, Mac-n-cheese for Amelia, but they both shared with each other:

Luca pulled the tomatoes and green peppers off my sub:

We finished out the morning with the penguins:

We said our goodbyes to Grandpa and headed home.  Luca went down for a nap.

We came back in and Amelia decorated the dresses that came with the special Barbie:

Later Luca woke and I fed them both a quick hot dog while we talked to you.

Headed down to the church...

I ate dinner, and the kids did some more snacking.

Luca ate a ton of watermelon:

Amelia did a singing video for you...   :)



As you know, the day did not end well.  But the kids made it to bed, and I relaxed after the work was done.
