Day 1

FRIDAY

Presents with Daddy before he left:

Goodbye hugs!

Dropped off the nerds at Megan's house.  We stopped for donuts, and Luca yelled for his "chip" the whole way to Megan's.

Headed down to LC for my appointment.  Then I drove around a bit before heading to Gahanna for the CT scan.

Stopped at Caribou for coffee, Johnny Buccelli's for lunch.  Thought I was being clever to get a tomato/mozzarella panini, but it's was lackluster.

Went to Carfagnas and got these yummies, a little ode to Italy:

Went to Worthington Jewelers and then got a pick-me-up cup of fro-yo at Cuzzins on my way back north.

Picked up the nerds.  Luca had a great day, with 1 good nap.  Amelia had a couple of meltdowns, but it seemed that she was missing Daddy.

Came home and immediately started playing outside.  Amelia was being a creeper and watching the neighbors working on their landscaping.

Luca was doing his usual "throw the ball and say 'uh-oh' as it rolls down the hill"

Amelia was naming these little flowers -- "Chris, Julie, Amelia, Luca..."

He did this about a half dozen times... such grace at retrieving those balls!  :)

Supper!  

Luca ate TWO hot dogs, some cooked carrots, a handful of blueberries, and 1/2 a biscotti:

Amelia was playing Barbies with Genevieve.

When I finally got her to eat, she had a quesadilla, crunchy carrots and ranch, a crap-ton of blueberries (oops, she was getting them herself), and 1/2 biscotti.

We hung out inside at this point.  Destroyed the living room, and watched the first 40 minutes of Shrek.

Headed upstairs to bed.  We watched your Friday video before heading up.

Neighbor Ron saved the day at this point, because Luca's seahorse needed batteries, but the battery compartment was stuck.  Fixed just in time for sleepies.

Bath as usual, book - Luca selected "Food Friends", prayer.

We all watched your goodnight video once, and then I put Luca to bed.  Amelia watched it 2 more times, in bed, in the dark, like this:

It was as if you were singing her to sleep....
